It’s time to celebrate our awesome teachers! Still Elementary is hosting Teacher Appreciation week from May 1st – May 5th. Thank you to our Room Parents for organizing a plan for their specific classrooms.

In addition, PTSA is pleased to share the following as highlights scheduled for the week:

  • Chick-fil-A biscuits delivered to all staff on Monday, May 1st
  • Moe’s catered lunch for all staff on Tuesday, May 2nd
  • A sweet treat provided for all staff on Friday, May 5th

Our teachers (and all staff) do so much for our students. Thank you for helping us make them feel even more special and appreciated this week!

As opening day for the Braves at SunTrust Park approaches, our new MLB neighbors and Cobb County School District Partner in Education would like the Cobb County School District to help them celebrate this milestone. Our partnership with the Braves extends throughout our school district and includes everything from Teacher Impact Grants and STEM education to the upcoming Braves (High School) Student Leadership Initiative (similar to the Chick-fil-a Student Leadership Program) and literacy programs from K-8.

In support of our Braves and their opening season, Still has been given a few items from the Braves Team to share with our students! This week we will be drawing names on the morning announcements for Tomahawks, hats, bobble heads, and on Friday two lucky winners will receive Braves ticket vouchers!!

We are joining with the Braves to collect canned food items this week for MUST Ministries. Here is a list of specific needs from Must Ministries:

  • Can Fruit (including individual servings)
  • Can Meat chicken, tuna, Vienna sausages
  • Breakfast items, smaller packages – oatmeal, grits
  • Tuna/Chicken Helper
  • Juice (plastic bottles ONLY)
  • Boxed Potatoes
  • Small Snacks for lunch bags
  • Cooking Oil (plastic bottles ONLY)
  • Mayonnaise (plastic bottles ONLY)

Donations will be collected in Still’s front lobby through Friday, April 14th. The Cobb County School with the most items donated will receive a special surprise from the Braves. Here is a short video from Braves player Dansby Swanson:

Also, students are encouraged to wear Braves gear to school this Friday, April 14th.
