"Still Stampede"

Saturday, November 6th

8:30am Still Upper Field

This new Family Event will focus on "Health & Fitness" and will include a Fun Run for our students. 

We are planning on having a t-shirt design contest, which will ultimately be the front of our race shirts.  

 

There will be a Half Miler (3 laps), Full Miler (6 laps), and Family Race (tbd).

There will be music, food, photos, and healthy focused vendors set up for post-race activities.

PLEASE NOTE:  This new event is a Family Involvement Event, NOT a Fund Raiser Event.

If you are interested in volunteering, we are having an informative meeting on Friday, Sept. 10th @10:30 am in Room 003. 

There are several different committees available to chair/co-chair or be a part of.  (Please note, this event is taking the place 

of our former "Fall Festival") .  Please consider one of the following committees:

*T-Shirt Committee (Design Contest, Voting, Ordering, Distribution)*

*Race Committee (Race Numbers, Registration)*

*Food Committee (Fruit, Muffins….)*

*Donation/Goody Bag Committee (Door Prizes, Coupons)*

*Advertising Committee (Posters, Bulletin Boards, Morning Announcements)*

*Volunteer Committee (Race Day Help)*

The Great Egg Challenge

REGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED! 

The deadline to register for The Great Egg Challenge has been extended to Tuesday, September 7th.

There are just a few spots still available for the

(Class A) Wed 9/8 and Launch on Fri 9/10

 

(Class B)  Thurs 9/9 and Launch on Fri 9/10   FULL 

Classes are held at Still Elementary immediately after school

                      

This is a CHALLENGE – at the LAUNCH, the student who has the Egg that lands CLOSEST to the Launch Padand DOES NOT BREAK,

wins a Game Stop Gift Card…

There is also a GOOD SPORT Prize for the student who has their egg land the farthest away!

WALK TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAYS
Tomorrow - Wednesday, September 1, 2010
is our First Walk to School Wednesday!
Students interested should meet us at Mountain View Church between 7:00 am - 7:30 am. 
 
We will depart as an organized adult led group in walking school bus form from the church making our way down Casteel Road and reaching the school in plenty of time before the morning bell.  Each student participating will receive a WTSW t-shirt and will be included in the school-wide graph documenting our progress.

REFLECTIONS REMINDER
 Students have until September 17 to submit entries on the
theme “Together We Can.”  (Projects can be turned in to the
yellow Reflections box in the front lobby.)  Entry forms
should be attached to the entry and not turned in
separately, as this may create confusion.  Also, please
remember that Special Artist entry forms require the s
ignature of a Special Needs teacher as well as parent.

FREE PARENTING CLASS

             

 

 The Incredible Years Parenting Program is an 8-week class for parents and caregivers of children ages 2—6  years old that encourages:
· Promoting parent competencies and support

 · Teaching positive discipline

 · Handling misbehavior

 · Establishing household rules, routines and limit setting

 · Strengthening children’s social skills & emotion regulation

 · School readiness skills

 · Using play and praise to strengthen parent-child relationships

 · Coping with stress and anger management

News from The Eagles Nest


It’s official, the school store is a huge success!! We’re in the 3rd week of business and going strong. 


We offer some really cool and unique school supplies. Prices range from 25 cents to $1.00
We also carry Still spirit car magnets, bags, and koozies. We will be stocking Still spirit shirts soon as well..


Starting the 2nd week of September, the Eagles Nest will be open 3 mornings a week!! Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:15am until 7:50am.
